Course description:

This 2 Day Summer workshop will be an exciting introduction to the amazing possibilities of combining wheel throwing and slab building. This course is for both the experienced and the beginner looking to approach clay in a new way. Wes will walk through his studio practice utilizing the wheel to generate forms to join with hand building. On top of wheel throwing and slab building, participants will be sketching and talking through ideas, motivations, and inspirations. During the course, Wes will cover both functional and sculptural considerations. Come and learn new ways of combining within the world of ceramics. 

Day 1

Demo: Getting on the wheel.

Throwing: cylinders, bowls, cones, and vases
