A 7-week intensive course focusing on wheel throwing utilizing larger amounts of clay to create lidded forms. This session will be focused on managing more weight on the wheel along with a variety of methods for creating lidded forms such as jars, sugar dishes, wax infusers, tea infusers, travel cups, and luminaries. Learn the techniques for how to utilize larger forms to create lids and bases with fitted gallerys. Focusing on throwing with calipers and other measuring tools, this class will give you the ability to experiment with form and elevate your pottery. We will be taking a deep dive into techniques such as: centering and controlling larger amounts of clay, gallerys on the form, gallerys on the lid, fitting forms inside of forms, closed forms, and more! Class fees include unlimited Open Studio time (outside of class, workshop & private party times) and your first 25 pounds of clay and firing. Previous wheel throwing experience required.
