Glaze, glaze, glaze! A 7-week intensive course focusing on atmospheric ceramic surfaces. This session will be focused on glazing techniques at both high and low temperatures. We will spend class time wheel throwing, making pots, prepping surfaces, and glazing for a variety of specialty firings that will take place throughout the 7 weeks. These firings will include: cone 10 high fire reduction, cone 10 soda firing, saggar firing, pit firing and more. Learn the techniques for how to merge form, function, and surface to create pots that feel both well considered and fully finished. Focusing on application of glazes, troubleshooting glaze issues, specialty glazing/surfaces, and wheel throwing, this class will give you the tools to experiment with surfaces and elevate your pottery. Class fees include unlimited Open Studio time (outside of class, workshop & private party times) and your first 25 pounds of clay and firing. Previous wheel throwing experience required.
